Obama did an about face last week, surprisingly ending his catastrophic economic
pronouncements and going so far as to urge Americans to start buying stock.
Now that he's solved the economic crisis, I expect the next crisis is right around
the corner. As we speak, the global warming alarmists are starting to come out of
the woodwork, eager to declare global warming a 'crisis' and get started on the
work of imposing costly measures (on taxpayers) in order to fix it. The signs are
there. I've outlined them in this weeks' article Here Comes The Next Crisis. Read it and weep.
America continues on the path to socialism, with the media helping every step of
the way. Even Wikipedia, the online 'people's encyclopedia' is doing its best to
airbrush Obama. Wikipedia has removed all references to Obama's buddies, homegrown terrorist
William Ayers and controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright from Obama's entry.
GOVERNMENT AT WORK
A new federal tax recently approved
by President Obama has increased cigarette carton prices by more than $10 - about 75 cents a pack. Another tax increase
is set to go into effect on April 1.

The Department of Justice has
launched an investigation of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in Arizona
(America's Sheriff, Joe Arpaio) following requests by Democrats and allegations
by liberal activists that the department has violated the "civil rights of illegal
aliens". Sheriff Joe is being investigated for enforcing the law? What's wrong with
this scenario??
The number of groups (PACs) contributing money to presidential
and congressional candidates has soared to an all-time high with their strongest growth in a generation.
A new report outlines how the financial sector invested more than $5 billion in political influence purchasing over
the past decade, with 3,000 lobbyists winning deregulation and policy decisions
that led directly to the current financial collapse. That's called crony capitalism,
and its thriving.
A GAO report found fraud and abuse helped boost Medicare spending
on home health services 44% over five years.
More than
one out of every five dollars of the $126 million Massachusetts is receiving in
earmarks from a $410 billion federal spending package is going to help preserve the legacy of the

UNDER CONSIDERATION:
In an
obscene quest for more tax dollars, the Obama administration is floating several
ideas:
A plan
to tax the health benefits workers receive from their employers; A plan to make
veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with
private insurance; An imposition of cap and trade legislation, etc. etc.
Meanwhile,
the Senate is gearing up to ratify a U.N. treaty meant to create universal laws to govern
the seas, a treaty that will create a massive U.N. bureaucracy that could even claim
powers over American waterways.
A new
bill,
H.R. 1388 is being considered that could possibly require Americans to provide
3 years of 'service'. To be defined later. Very scary stuff, all.
CULTURE:

scattered out of their traditional bases.

GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS:
A North Carolina judge has ordered three children to attend public schools this fall because the homeschooling
their mother has provided needs to be "challenged", even though the children tested
at 2 years above their grade level.
Gender is now optional. The third largest
school district in Alaska approved a new policy last month that will allow students
to choose
their own "gender identity." And in Maryland, a "gender identity" plan for coed showers, locker rooms and other
public facilities already implemented in one suburban Maryland county could be going
statewide.
A Lakeview Elementary parent is upset the
audience of a school program on Martin Luther King Jr. was asked to stand for a
song known as the black national anthem.
