Here at home, Obama signaled a willingness to entertain a
bailout of the old media, if they were to restructure as
"non-profit." Of interest and, I'm sure totally unrelated: Obama has received nearly
two miles of coverage on the front page of the New York
Times so far this year. Hmmm... what does it all
mean? Americans beware.
Meanwhile,
a video
surfaced that shows US kids in government schools actually singing Obama's
praises. What's wrong with this picture? What's wrong with our President?
GOVERNMENT AT WORK:
Democrats moved to
exempt the Postal Service from having to make $4 billion
in payments due next week to cover retirement health benefits for its employees.
The unions are very grateful.
The good news is: The equivalent of 150 million to 250 million barrels of
oil and natural gas
have been discovered in an undisclosed part of Kern County,
California. The biggest find in 35 years. The bad news is: The Senate has voted
against an attempt by Republicans to keep in place a plan by the Bush administration
to
allow oil and gas drilling along the Atlantic and Pacific
coasts.
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has told Tennessee
gun dealers to
disregard a state statute that exempts firearms made and
sold inside Tennessee from federal gun laws and registration. Hey, what about the
10th Amendment?
The bureaucrats at the FDA are also working hard on our behalf. Americans may rest
easy knowing that the Food and Drug Administration
has banned candy and/or fruit cigarettes. Whew.
Though the $787 billion 'stimulus' package has done nothing to help the economy,
it has certainly
stimulated the government agencies that are hiring thousands
of (government) workers and spending millions of dollars to oversee and implement
the package.
A
fund-raiser for Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and other
Democrats, has been indicted for defrauding B of A, HSBC and Citigroup Inc out of
more than $290 million in loan proceeds. I'm sure you heard it here first.
OF INTEREST:
Now days, being homeless is more competitive than ever. Only the most
clever and creative signs are going to get people to let
go of their precious spare change
Obama loves to hear himself talk – about himself. In just 41 speeches so this year,
Obama has talked about himself
nearly 1,200 times – 1,198 to be exact.
The foreign-born dropped from 12.6% in 2007 to 12.5%, according to
Census data out Monday. The share had been rising every
decade since 1970, when it hit a low of 4.7%.
As populations around the world age, governments are increasingly being confronted
with the taboo idea of dying as something
people can volunteer to do.
Seventy-seven percent (77%) of U.S. voters say that they
prefer a free market economy over a government-managed economy.
That’s up seven points since December.
57% of Americans say the government is
trying to do too many things that should be left to businesses
and individuals, and 45% say there is too much government regulation of business.
RIGHTBIAS IDIOT AWARDS:
RightBias awards our
'Top Idiot Of The Week' award to Obama's pick for
Safe and Drug Free School Czar.
His resume shows he did drugs, slammed religion and still
promotes homosexuality in public schools. Inquiring minds want to know what idiot
hired this idiot.
RUNNER UP:
Prince Charles is urging people to
give up their cars in favour of walking and public transport
to try to reduce carbon emissions.
HONORABLE MENTION:
He's Baaack... Boy Clinton is back in the news. This time he's saying that the vast
right wing conspiracy that once targeted him is
now targeting President Obama. Riight...
Until next week, keep smiling,
Nancy Morgan
