BASTIAT AWARDS 2008

Dear Friends,
As you
may already know, the Bastiat Society's first Awards, in Public Policy and Business
will be presented on Saturday, April 5th at a ceremony at the Charleston
Place Hotel.
The Society is pleased to announce that Paul Atkins, Commissioner of
the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC, and Kathy Gornik, President
of Thiel Audio in Lexington, Kentucky, are recipients of the first Bastiat Awards.
Mr. Atkins will receive the
Bastiat in Public Policy Award, and Ms. Gornik will receive the Bastiat in Business
Award.
The
awards will be presented at a gala dinner, held in conjunction with the Reason Foundation,
that is sure to be an event not to miss. South Carolina Governor, Mark Sanford
will be the keynote speaker. The reception will start promptly at six with
dinner following at seven.
The dinner is part of Reason Weekend, April 3-6.
